Saturday 14th October 2023 Medway Sub-Aqua club took part in the Thames Boat Run to celebrate British Sub-Aqua Clubs (BSAC) 70th Anniversary
Saturday 17 clubs taking part in the run, which started at Erith Yacht Club in Dartford passing famour landmarks like The O2 Arena, Canary Warf, Tower Bridge and Shakespear's Globe Theatre, stopping at RNLI Tower Lifeboat Station where a £1,001 check was handed over by BSAC's Chair Edward Haynes to the RNLI.
Medway Sub-Aqua Club being one of the oldests clubs formed in 1959 is proud to have taken part in such an event to celebrate BSAC's 70th Anniversary.
BSAC’s CEO, Mary Tetley had this to day. “What a great way to celebrate BSAC’s 70th Anniversary, with a big visual celebration of our clubs and their boats on the Thames,” she said. “There’s a lot of pride associated with our RIBs because they enable our members to dive independently. This self-sufficiency is part of our identity, so it’s wonderful to see it being celebrated here on the Thames.”
